If you’ve been watching my videos for a while you’ll know that I always recommend using WIRED microphones where possible…
The reason for this is simple. When you’re shooting, it’s important to remove as many variables and things that could go wrong as possible… With audio – if something goes wrong, it’s likely you won’t notice until after you’ve wrapped the shoot. If you haven’t experienced this, trust me – it’s PAINFUL.
Using Wired microphones means there’s no chance your batteries will go flat when filming, and there’s zero chance of any signal issues. (If you’re interested in the wired microphone I recommend, check out this video: https://youtu.be/zxtwBPaTj3c).
But wired microphones aren’t ALWAYS the best option. There are a number of circumstances where wireless microphones are indeed the best solution, and if you’re in one of those it’s hard to go past the RODE Filmmaker Kit!
In this video, I run through everything I love about the RODE Filmmaker Kit (and the few things I don’t…)
