Editing, Recording & Transcription Tool
Game-changing tool for editing your content insanely fast.
Descript is a game-changing tool in your belt. Just upload your video files and within minutes Descript will generate a complete written transcript. You can either grab the transcript and go, or you can edit the transcript like a Google doc to edit your video content, allowing you to cut down your content super quickly. There's a ton of AI tools built-in including the Overdub feature which clones your voice and allows you to fix any spoken mistakes within seconds.
YouTube Optimization & Growth
Great tool for video topic ideation & growing a YouTube Channel.
We use VidIQ to help optimize our videos for YouTube. It's got a suite of tools, from keyword and topic analysis, to niche & competitor reviews that help us get our content ranking on YouTube. In particular, the 'related keyword' report gives as an awesome .csv we can dump into our AI tools, automating what used to be a painful manual review process!
AI Voice & Music Generation Tool
The insanely realistic AI voice tool we use to clone voices and speed up edits.
ElevenLabs is our go-to for ultra‑realistic AI voices and voice cloning. It nails pacing, tone, and personality -without requiring endless tweaking. They've also recently released a promising new music generator! You can create audiobooks and podcasts, dub videos in 29 languages with full timing control, generate sound effects, and even clean up audio—all in one place. There’s a Free plan, so it’s an easy win for your next edit.
Stock Music Library
Awesome library of stock music we use for a ton of projects.
Epidemic Sound is a crowd favorite amongst YouTubers and content creators because of their awesome track library and 'all-you-can-eat' plans. They make it super simple to find new, fresh music you haven't heard 1000 times, so it's one of our go-to resources for YouTube content.
Powerful App Library
Huge library of powerful apps for Mac & iOS.
Setapp is an incredible all-in-one subscription service that gives you access to a huge library of tools. Think tools for productivity, creativity, maintenance, writing, and so much more. We love how easy it makes discovering powerful new apps and having the right tool instantly available, whether it's for time tracking or a seamless AI chat app. It saves us a ton of time hunting for solutions and money on individual app licenses.
AI Dictation Tool
The low-cost AI dictation tool that's speeding up our workflows
We've tested a bunch of voice-to-text tools on Mac, and VoiceInk is now the one our whole team use. It's near-instantaneous transcription, super impressive accuracy, and auto-formatting to remove "ums", "ah's" and pauses make it so much faster than typing. There's also a ton of added AI features you can customize, and specific workflows depending on the app/context you're actively using. It uses free local AI models, so doesn't require a subscription. As a one-time $25 purchase, it's a no brainer recommendation! Currently only available on Mac.
Productivity Tool with AI
The AI-powered command center that we now can't live without
Raycast has been a game-changer for our whole team. It started as a more powerful Spotlight replacement for Mac, but has become our go-to interface for... everything! (Especially now there's an iOS version). It's now our default platform for accessing all the latest AI models, integrating AI directly into a ton of desktop workflows. This has streamlined our entire video production process, from brainstorming titles to generating timestamps. Justin even uses it to auto-add handwritten notes from his wife to his calendar from a photo. A powerful free version is available (Pro plans from US$8/month). Grab a 10% discount using our link.
Productivity Tool with AI
The AI-powered read-it-later app taming our content feeds
Too many times we'd see an interesting article, YouTube video, or X thread, plan to check it out later, then get distracted and completely forget about it. Reader by Readwise has been the perfect fix for this. It lets you save anything you find online into one central 'read later' space. With the ability to add highlights, tags, and notes, it goes beyond a simple reading list and becomes more of a second brain. But the feature Justin loves most is their Ghostreader AI to get an instant summary or answer follow up questions. It's a powerful way to quickly extract key takeaways from the content you're saving.
